How to choose organza fabric
Check how stiff the organza is and whether it has a metallic or satin sheen. For skirts and sleeves, a crisper type gives more volume, while a softer type drapes more.
How to wash and care for organza fabric
Sheer fabrics are best hand-washed or machine-washed in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle, then dried flat. Press with a cool iron on the reverse, and use fine needles and a small stitch length when sewing.
What is the difference between organza and organdy?
Organza is usually silk or synthetic and has a slight sheen. Organdy is a crisp cotton with a matte finish and tends to wrinkle more.
