How to match a fabric colour
- Pick your colour. Use the colour picker, type a hex code (for example #7A1F2B), or tap one of the popular colours.
- Or use a photo. Upload a picture of your swatch, garment or inspiration, then tap the exact spot you want to match. The photo never leaves your device.
- Browse the closest fabrics. Results are sorted from nearest to furthest, with the price per metre. Filter by fabric type and price, and choose whether to see only plain colours and in-stock fabrics.
How accurate is the match?
We measure each colour from our product photographs, then compare it with your colour using a standard method for judging how different two colours look to the eye. "Near exact" and "Very close" are the best matches. Screens, lighting and camera settings change how colours appear, so for shade-critical work we recommend a swatch before buying in quantity.
Frequently asked questions
Can I find fabric in a specific shade, like navy blue or wine?
Yes. Pick the shade from the popular colours or enter its hex code. Then add a fabric filter such as georgette, satin or velvet.
Can I match a colour from a photo?
Yes. Upload the photo, tap the colour you want, and the tool finds the closest fabrics we stock.
Why are printed fabrics hidden?
Printed designs have many colours, so a single colour match is not meaningful. Untick "Plain colours only" if you want to include them.
Do you supply the same colour in bulk?
Many fabrics are available in large quantities. For bulk orders and colour matching to a sample, contact the Tessuti team.
