Silk Fabric

This collection covers silk fabrics such as Habutai, dupion, silk twill and silk satin, in plain, printed and ready-for-dyeing forms. Silk is smooth, breathable and takes dye richly.

Compare composition and weight. Habutai is light and soft, dupion has a textured slub, and silk twill is firmer.

Silk is best dry-cleaned or gently hand-washed in cool water with a mild detergent. Iron on a low setting on the reverse, and test colour fastness on a small piece first.
