RFD-D

Ready for dyeing (RFD) fabrics are undyed and unfinished so they can be dyed or printed to your specification. They include silk, modal and viscose bases.

Common uses include custom dyeing and digital printing.

Check the composition because it determines which dyes you can use.

Check the care guidance on each product page, as it varies by fibre and finish. Test a small swatch before washing a full garment, and pre-wash if you plan to wash the finished piece.

RFD means ready for dyeing; PFD is prepared for dyeing. They are often used for the same purpose, so check each product. See our silk fabric collection.

Fabric is sold by the metre: choose your length on the product page. Most fabrics are 150 cm wide; the width and weight are listed on each product page.
