Frequently asked questions

What is net & lace fabric?

Net is an open mesh fabric, while lace has fine decorative patterns, usually with a scalloped edge. Both are sheer and are used as overlays or accents.

What is net & lace fabric used for?

Designers use them for gowns, lehenga dupattas, bridal veils, overlays, lingerie and trims.

How do I choose the right net & lace fabric?

Check the hole size, stretch and edge finish. Stiff nets give volume to skirts, while soft nets and lace drape better over the body.

How should I care for and sew net & lace fabric?

Sheer fabrics are best hand-washed or machine-washed in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle, then dried flat. Press with a cool iron on the reverse, and use fine needles and a small stitch length when sewing.

How do I line net or lace?

Choose a lining fabric in a matching or skin-tone shade, such as satin or crepe. The lining shows through the pattern, so test the colour. See our Satin collection.

How is net & lace fabric priced and sold?

Fabric is sold by the metre: choose your length on the product page. Prices start from ₹150 per metre. Most fabrics are 150 cm wide; the width and weight are listed on each product page.

Do you supply net & lace fabric in bulk to brands and manufacturers?

Yes. We supply designers, boutiques, label owners and manufacturers. For trade pricing, sampling and large orders, contact the Tessuti team.
