Gown fabrics need drape or structure, depending on the design. This collection has satin, net, organza and embroidered fabrics.
What is gown fabric used for?
Common uses include evening gowns, bridal gowns and occasion dresses.
How do I choose the right gown fabric?
Plan lining and underlining, and order enough length for skirts.
How should I care for and sew gown fabric?
Sheer fabrics are best hand-washed or machine-washed in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle, then dried flat. Press with a cool iron on the reverse, and use fine needles and a small stitch length when sewing.
How much fabric does a gown need?
It depends on the pattern and skirt volume, so check with your pattern-maker and add extra for matching and cutting. See our satin collection.
How is gown fabric priced and sold?
Fabric is sold by the metre: choose your length on the product page. Prices start from ₹190 per metre. Most fabrics are 150 cm wide; the width and weight are listed on each product page.
Do you supply gown fabric in bulk to brands and manufacturers?
Yes. We supply designers, boutiques, label owners and manufacturers. For trade pricing, sampling and large orders, contact the Tessuti team.
