It is used for jackets, co-ord sets, skirts, waistcoats and coats. Most designs are 150 cm wide.
How to choose tweed fabric
Check the weight and fibre content. Heavier tweeds suit coats and jackets, while lighter summer tweeds are better for tops and co-ords.
How to wash and care for tweed fabric
Wool is usually best dry-cleaned or hand-washed in cool water. Steam rather than press flat to protect the texture, and store it folded with the weave unstressed.
Is tweed suitable for hot weather?
Heavy wool tweed is warm, but lighter summer tweeds are made for warmer months. Choose a lighter GSM and a lining that breathes.
